Messenion Nude Coin Charm

The search for origins passes from the study of the history of the island and reaches the times of Magna Graecia, when in Sicily each center had its own minting in which silver coins were made which were small works of art. A decorated charm pays homage to the sculptural tradition of Messenion from the 5th century BC: on one side a hare is depicted in the act of jumping, while on the other a charioteer drives a chariot while Nike holds a crown.
